The Challenge<\/strong>
Operating 24\/7, METRO processes thousands of orders daily through its state-of-the-art distribution centres, supplying \u201cMy Market\u201d stores across Greece. High expectations for accuracy, speed, and uninterrupted operations in a multi-shift environment, demanded technology that could ensure:
\u2022 Continuous uptime with no disruptions
\u2022 Significant reduction in order-picking errors
\u2022 End-to-end traceability across all processes
\u2022 A better working experience for employees in high-demand environments<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was not just a technical challenge, but also an organizational one: how to integrate new technologies into existing WMS infrastructure, without disrupting business continuity?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Solution<\/strong>
Leveraging its expertise in complex implementations, Mobile Technology designed and delivered an end-to-end solution, powered by Honeywell\u2019s latest-generation devices.
More than 3000 Honeywell devices were deployed, including:

\u2022 EDA52:<\/a> Ultra-light, versatile PDAs for real-time data capture
\u2022 RT10<\/a>: Robust Android tablets for mobile logistics and monitoring
\u2022 Voice 700x<\/a>: Advanced voice-picking systems enabling hands-free workflows, significantly boosting speed and reducing fatigue<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This wasn\u2019t just about installing new equipment. It was about delivering a holistic implementation approach, ensuring seamless integration into METRO\u2019s environment and maximizing performance. Mobile Technology handled the full configuration and integration with existing WMS systems, ensuring compatibility and operational continuity.
At the same time, we conducted intensive training sessions (complete with hands-on testing in real working conditions) for end users and warehouse supervisors, ensuring full adoption from day one. And of course, our support didn\u2019t stop there: we continue to provide ongoing after-sales support, rapid troubleshooting, and continuous solution optimization based on field feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new solution delivered immediate, measurable results. Order-picking errors dropped significantly thanks to voice guidance and fast, accurate scanning. Employee productivity improved and over 150 users now enjoy better ergonomics and a smoother daily workflow.
